Our organization services the elderly, prepares nutritional food daily, does physical exercises, makes arts /handwork, music, golden games, and mentors young women and girls.
UK and Soweto Charter Partnership
When I visit Soweto I am always delighted and inspired to spend time with the Gogos (Zulu for "Grannies") of the Vuka Uzenzele Pimville Oldies.
These inspiring senior citizens (mostly women) meet most days to sing, play sports and games, create, pray and eat together. The atmosphere is one of joy and reverence, and the welcome I receive, with whatever visitors I may have brought along, is second to none.
Hope in the Heart is proud and honoured to work in partnership with Vuka Uzenzele Pimville Oldies. Whenever we visit we bring gifts from people in the UK who have been inspired by our photos and videos of the Gogos, and we take back much more than material gifts when we leave.
